Commitment to Accessibility
Jumarie is committed to making its website and digital services accessible to the entire population, including people with disabilities, in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Accessibility Accommodations for Service), 5773-2013.
The website operates in accordance with Israeli Standard 5568 recommendations, based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines of the global W3C organization.
Accessibility Measures on the Website
The website includes the following accessibility accommodations:
- Accessibility Menu — A fixed accessibility button in the bottom right corner that allows personal adjustments: text enlargement, high contrast, dark mode, link highlighting, animation stopping, enlarged cursor and reading guide.
- Skip to Content — A 'Skip to main content' link appears on the first Tab press, for quick keyboard navigation.
- Semantic Structure — The website is built with semantic HTML tags (headings, navigation, regions) to support screen readers.
- Image Descriptions — Images on the website have alternative text (alt) describing their content.
- Keyboard Navigation — All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard with clear focus indication.
- RTL Support — The website is designed from the start for Hebrew with right-to-left reading direction.
- ARIA Labels — Interactive elements (buttons, forms, links) are labeled for assistive technologies.
How to Use Accessibility Features
Accessibility Menu
Click the accessibility button (person icon) in the bottom right corner of the screen. In the menu that opens you can enable and disable various accommodations. Settings are saved for future visits.
Keyboard Navigation
Tab — Move between elements • Enter/Space — Activate buttons and links • Escape — Close menus and dialogs
Screen Readers
The website supports leading screen readers: NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver. It is recommended to use the most recent version.
What Is Still Not Accessible
Despite our efforts, there may be areas on the website that have not yet been fully made accessible:
- Some product images may lack a full alternative description
- Third-party content (social networks) may not meet accessibility standards
